I was told that my opinion about performances of "Monolit" cannot be sober as "I love them". I'd like to make the situation more or less clear.
Explanation.Yes, I like them very much. This is how I perceive them: a bit naive guys with a pink American dream who have a great desire to achieve it. They're running a bit too fast at times and think too much about themselves, but they have talent and chances. They turned out to be nice in communication with the press - I mean with me :P - and I want to help them. Sincerely.
I like all their shows as these guys are "mine". I call them "my rock stars". Because they are friends. Thought I might dislike or even hate some elements of the performances. Like naked whores, for example.
I was asked about the quality of the vocalist's singing. I said it was awesome - not just because I like that guy as a person. It made the audience go wild - and it made the stone-hearted me catch a good mood and smile with my ugly smile without thinking of how it looks from aside. This is what matters in creating the like/dislike effect, and not the mistakes I really noticed but paid no attention to them.
Know what I like in Japanese contemporary art? No, I am not changing the subject of this post. It has the ability of creating the mood. So do these guys - they create a mood by performing. Shows in general. And this is what matters. I like what creates my mood. And I'm too polite to tell about small mistakes that don't spoil anything. Only if sb asks me to point on these.
So I notice everything, just take the whole show, not in features. The target is to make the public pleased, isn't it? And they do it great.
