I have discovered goth music of different countries has a different mood and...color... Couldn't help writing this down. Based on what I have listened in the past 3 days.
I'll start from Ukrainian gothic music. As for me, it is the saddest kind of goth scene. Beautiful, romantic - but painful and desperate. Looking like broken glass - crystal clear and sharp. In colors of gray and red. Decorated with roses.
German - tough, often dirty, bloody and explicit. More outside than inside. Scary scenes and almost no limits in visual images. Wires, artificial people, computer consciousness and the feeling of "I have nothing to lose, all of us will go to hell". Lots of disgusting things as well.
American goth music - and I remembered The Cruxshadows and Evanescence. That's dark romantic and sometimes epic, I think. Noble ideas and clear sincere feelings. Different images that only sometimes disappoint about the content.
Norwegian, Finnish and from other countries of that region - somehow out-of-this-world. As if from ancient legends or fantasy stories. Dark fairytales with movie scenes.
Japanese - probably the most aesthetic kind. Acid colors and perfect style, a mix of theatre and music. No fear of looking weird as everything weird is good. Either dark romantic or horror, both freaky and sometimes a bit too sweet - all of these looks the way we want to look it again. Impossible things are made possible. To be continued...
