My cousin's new pet

It's said kids' toys become more and more expensive as children grow up. But everyone plays. So does my 9-years-old cousin. Once he bought a magazine where saw an ad of a new toy - "a new life form, artificial intelligence..." - a robot dinosaur named Pleo. And his parents promised him to buy it if he gets 100 victories at his sports competitions (he goes in for fencing and swimming). The boy did it. Faster than we expected. His b-day is on the 1st of January, so a present was waiting for him under the Christmas tree. When I came to his party, already saw the happy guy with his new pet. Want to know what happened next?

That creature or device - don't know how to call it - seemed to be a usual toy. Illya showed it to me closer. The dinosaur made funny sounds I laughed at. But then I was even a bit scared because of having realised it perceives the reality somehow - turns head when sb is speaking, looks at the person who is talking to it, doesn't fall from places with steep edges and purrs (not only, a lot of other funny sounds as well) when sb caresses it.

Some tricks it can perform are in next pics. Yes, there's also a lot of software available for it, the robot is also said to "grow up" learning new things and getting acquainted with the surrounding world.

It eats a special leaf. Of course, without swallowing it. So it doesn't need a litterbox. XD

It bites! Even his owner. No wonder I didn't miss an opportunity to put a finger in its mouth. ^^ Illya was so happy for being bit...



The funniest thing happened when Illya gave Pleo to me. This device or creature embraced me with paws (or legs?), started snoring or purring and..fell asleep. I was a bit confused as didn't understand what it's doing and where it is poking the nose. Btw, it makes funny sounds when sniffing sth - it does this too. And stretched the face to me when I was going to kiss it. ^^

It's fuckin expensive, but funny . Works on batteries that need recharging.So when it falls asleep without a sound and cannot be woken up - the owner takes the battery out and puts on the charging device. LOL, we first feared it cannot be turned off. XD
